Appasamy Associates recommending some ways for
reducing the digital eye strain:
1.
Place your Mobile/Computer Display screen 50 to 60 cms away from your eyes
and slightly below the eye level.
2.
Place the document holder next to your screen so that you don’t have to
swing your head back and forth or constantly change your eye focus.
3.
Seat on the adjustable chair, change your lighting with respect to lower
glare and harsh reflections.
4.
Choose display screens and keyboards that can tilt and swivel which is also
helpful for reducing the eye strain.
5.
Anti reflective glasses with yellow-tinted lenses blocks blue light that
can help to ease digital eye strain .
6.
Use Anti-reflective lenses which is used to reduce glare, increase
contrast, and block blue light from digital devices.
Using the “20-20-20” rule, take frequent breaks
ie. for every 20 minutes, look away from your screen and look at an object 20
feet away from you for at least 20 seconds.
For other work environments like chemical, biological, environmental, radiological, industrial or mechanical irritants and hazards must also be mindful of eye safety.
